Biography - Mia  L. Washington (Realtor)

Mia LaShia Washington (Beverly), is a brilliantly dynamic woman with diverse interest that highlight her heart for giving and helping others.  Raised by a single mother in Philadelphia, Mia was grounded in church and exhibited success in school at an early age. With careful discipline, she matriculated through Widener University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration degree with a concentration in Accounting.  While attending Widener she met her college sweetheart and the two married in July 2002. From their union produced two active & intelligent children, a daughter who is currently a junior at the University of South Carolina, and a son who is currently a junior at North Penn High School. She currently resides in Lansdale, Pennsylvania and is an a vibrate member of the community.

 In addition, she is a successful Pennsylvania Realtor helping families and friends buy and sell property. 

 In addition to her professional diligence, she finds time to serve and help others.  Mia serves as an Ordained Minister and Finance Director at Higher Ground International Ministries (HGIM), with two locations in Philadelphia and Pottstown.   HGIM is non-denominational Christian based ministry catering to their surrounding communites. HGIM host various programs in which Mia has taken the lead and currently contributing to such as Baby Showers during Mother’s Day for single and unwed mothers, Book bag giveaways prior to school starting, Toy giveaways for Christmas and much more.  She has also led 2 mission trips where she was able to serve the communities of Mexico and Guyana. HGIM has been branded the “Giving Church” and she is proud to be connected with a ministry that takes the church outside of the four walls locally and internationally.

Beyond her ministry service, one of her greatest rewards has been serving as a Hospice volunteer with Abington-Jefferson for over 3 years and counting.  She finds this responsibility fulfilling because of the people and families impacted during such an intimate time with their loved ones. Her duties consist of but not limited to providing a quiet presence, reading, sitting and watching their favorite TV show or movie with them, and/or participate in various activities as requested.

Constantly looking to better herself, she is currently pursuing a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Supply Chain Management from Delaware Valley University, Doylestown, Pennsylvania.  Her expected graduation date is May 16, 2020. While obtaining her degree, Mia is in the process of implementing a Financial Literacy program for children and teens teaching them the importance of knowing their finances, controlling their finances, and diversifying their finances. She will have the opportunity to roll out her program in the fall of 2019 in partnership with a community based program for high school girls.

While Mia has many different titles and names associated with her from Mother, Wife, Finance Director, Minister, Mentor and Volunteer they all are tied to her desire to help and inspire others.  Despite her many accomplishments, she prefers not to be identified by any title and allow her love for people to represent her. Mia’s passion to create a lasting and positive impact is represented in the work she does and the smiles of those fortunate enough to cross her path.
